Advanced Bookkeeper

As Precision grows, we are looking to bring our accounting operations in-house. This Advanced Bookkeeper would be the first to implement and manage this program, while influencing the direction of how Precision handles accounting in the future. In close partnership with Precision’s leadership and project management teams, this Advanced Bookkeeper will play an active role in managing finances and accounting functions as well as strategic planning and HR initiatives. A strong financial/bookkeeping background, coupled with a highly versatile and collaborative mindset, will enable this Advanced Bookkeeper to thrive in Precision’s fast paced, entrepreneurial culture.



  • Perform the monthly accounting close – accurately & timely

  • Prepare all periodic (weekly and monthly) financial statements

  • Perform all monthly account reconciliations (credit cards, bank statements) and G/L account analysis

  • Manage weekly payroll processing, including certified payroll reporting

  • Manage A/R - generate and distribute invoices (including AIA billings) and track collections

  • Manage A/P - ensure proper vendor setup and accuracy of invoices as well as timely payment of bills

  • Process mapping of key financial processes to improve efficiency and accuracy

  • Prepare reports and internal financial statements and assist CFO with financial analysis

  • Identify Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to improve company performance in conjunction with senior management

  • Prepare bank deposits, ensuring that the correct general ledger accounts are debited or credited accordingly

  • Coordinate with third party advisers (including CPA, surety, and bankers) and assist with audit and tax preparation, budget building, cash flow projections, etc.


  • Maintain personnel files in conjunction with HR

  • Administer employee benefits and health insurance programs with brokers / agents

  • Implement and update company policies & procedures in conjunction with HR

  • Create and manage the company's operating budget (monthly and annual updates & analysis)


  • 4+ years of accounting experience, with 2+ years of construction industry experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field

  • Knowledge of AIA billing and certified payroll processes a must

  • Demonstrate proficiency by completing a basic accounting assessment, conducted during the interview process

  • Ability to handle payroll and prepare associated reports

  • Excellent computer skills, including advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel

  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and process oriented

  • Trustworthy and professional in handling confidential information

  • Collaborative and effective team player

  • Experience with Construction Partner or Foundation construction accounting software a plus
