HOURS: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Under the direction of the Supervisor of Clinics, this position is responsible to provide direct patient care under the guidelines of the California Nursing Practice Act. The LVN will interact with other departments, clinic personnel, and outside providers in a professional and friendly manner, to create and maintain a positive relationship with our internal and external customers. Providing excellent communication and Customer Service while striving for positive and professional relationship with providers, patients, and families. Provide effective communication with various health care providers, including specialists.They will adhere to all company policies and procedures relative to employment and job responsibilities. They will be knowledgeable regarding disease processes and medications to ensure the ability to assess patient needs and provide education as indicated. Collaborate with clinical staff in the development and execution of the plan of care and the achievement of goals. They will show patients to examination room and obtain complete and accurate vital signs, height, weight, and head circumference per policy and procedure. Anticipate, assist and perform procedures ordered by the provider. Maintain patient safety and privacy and reinforcing and supporting patient education programs. Maintain all equipment used for patient care and testing. Sending "No Show" and "Cancellation" patients' reminder letters and notifying patients regarding lab/x-ray and other test results as directed by provider. Ensure proper handling and documentation of all medications and accurately calling in patients' prescription refills as recorded by provider. Initiate/participate in Code White, Code Blue, Code Red situations as they arise within guidelines of scope of practice. Administer all injections/medications accurately and safely and perform venipuncture, urinalysis and blood glucose in office. All charting in NextGen must be complete and accurate by the end of each business day and maintain NextGen task box / patient portal in a timely manner. Willing to work at any company location or department, depending on business/staffing needs (if driving for company then employee must provide current CDL and Auto Insurance). This is a float position and the LVN Float may be assigned to a different clinic in San Luis County. Cultural and Linguistic annual training required.
Graduate from an accredited Licensed Vocational Nursing program.
Current California LVN license. Unrestricted
Current BLS certification.
Minimum of two years clinical nursing experience.
Experience with Electronic Medical Records.
