WE ARE CURRENTLY SEEKING a PROJECT ENGINEER (Process/Mechanical) for our SAN LUIS OBISPO office. San Luis Obispo is on the beautiful central coast of California, has scenic beaches, is surrounded by the wine country, and offers endless recreational opportunities.

ENERGY PROJECTS INCLUDE Oil and Gas with an emphasis on Upstream Production Facilities * Refinery * Power Generation * Pipelines * Water Treatment Facilities * Process Industries.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, under the direction of a Project Manager, preparing plans, specifications, calculations, and estimates in connection with the construction or modification of various engineering projects with emphasis on upstream oil and gas production, and natural gas processing, compression, storage, and transmission. Interfaces with clients on project coordination, design, and follow-up to ensure quality standards are met, efficiency levels are maintained, and client satisfaction, respect and confidence are assured.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college. Chemical or Mechanical focus strongly preferred.
• A minimum of 6 years of related process engineering experience in the chemical, petrochemical, or refining industries.
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively with technical professionals and field personnel.
• Good interpersonal skills and fluent in written and spoken English.
• EIT or PE, a plus.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, 3D piping modeling, AVEVA Engineering, Microsoft 365 is a plus.
• Familiar with applicable industry standard design codes (ASME, ANSI, API, etc.).
• Process simulation experience using HYSYS, PROCESS or CHEMCAD, or equivalent, is preferred.
• Field Experience - Basic understanding of how equipment functions in an upstream oil and gas field and facility.
• Equipment design/rating - Ability to design a variety of unit operations such as heat exchangers, vessels, distillation columns, etc. is a plus.
• Process Design Experience - Must have basic knowledge of process design.
