Etna Interactive, a digital marketing agency in San Luis Obispo, CA, is seeking a Senior Web Developer – ideally a special candidate with great design instincts and at least 4 years of related experience. This role works closely with the creative teams to build beautifully designed, highly functional websites. We are looking for someone who is passionate about web development and is efficient, effective and accountable for leading successful, high quality projects.

Must Haves:

• Ability to author clean, compliant, search-engine friendly HTML and CSS. You can see a visual element and quickly understand how it can be encoded responsively…or where it could break across the various view ports.
• Proficiency with front-end programming using JavaScript.
• Proficiency with Photoshop, code editors or IDEs, and other web production tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. You can just as easily talk code to a peer as you can talk about project timelines and needs to the client.
• Strong task management and prioritization skills. You know how to keep yourself on time and how to keep track of where other project contributors will impact your work.
• Live examples of design and development projects that you were a leader or primary developer on.
• Minimum 4 years relevant experience. You have seen some stuff out there. You know how you like to work, communicate, manage, and be managed. You know how to coach other team members to solve problems with their projects.

Wish List:

• Web design experience or an eye for front-end development. You have ideally created a website design system from the ground up and seen it through concept to maintenance.
• Familiarity with frameworks such as Foundation
• A passion for spectacular User eXperinces
• Experience working with Git version control system
• Experience building responsive websites
• Knowledge of technical SEO best practices
• Proficiency with preprocessors
• WordPress, PHP, and .Net MVC experience preferred
• A desire to champion research and innovation into new behaviors, layouts, and interactions
• A fanaticism for documentation
