Job Description – Bilingual Spanish/English Human Resources and Payroll Administrator

Are you experienced in Davis/Bacon and California Prevailing Wage payroll?

Can you confidently communicate to employees regarding employment, benefits, payroll, and policies?

Do you have a strong command of both English and Spanish?

If so, Seamair General Engineering wants to talk to you about our Bilingual Spanish/English Human Resources and Payroll Administrator position. We seek a personable, assertive self-starter to join our team as we experience continued strong growth.

Seamair General Engineering is a San Luis Obispo-based contracting service with exposure to public and private works throughout the Central Coast. The HR and Payroll Administrator will report directly to the Controller.

Your skill set must include an ability to work under deadlines and have an ability to seamlessly toggle between tasks. This position is integral to our team as they responsibly develop and implement training, onboarding, and assuredly submit payroll forms and reports, among other essential tasks.

Communicating effectively is a key element of this role, as is the ability to maintain strict records and documentation.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for 30+ employees
  • Serve as initial point of contact for employees with routine inquiries and issues as they relate to employment, benefits, payroll, and policies
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures
  • Develop and maintain supporting HR documentation and policies
  • Conduct new hire onboarding procedures
  • Administration of attendance records, payroll, and benefits
  • Prepare certified payroll forms/reports, monthly workers’ compensation, and California Apprenticeship Program reports.
  • Develop and implement training programs to ensure compliance

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in Human Resources and Payroll Administration
  • Experience in Davis/Bacon and California Prevailing Wage payroll
  • Bilingual Spanish is a huge plus
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook

This is a full-time position with a pay range of $55,000 – $60,000 including the following benefits (waiting periods may apply):
